What is mindfulness?
Mindfulness is the basic human ability to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we’re doing, and not overly reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around us.
“Mindfulness is awareness that arises through paying attention, on purpose, in the present moment, non-judgementally,” says Kabat-Zinn.
Bringing mindfulness into your life is a gift you can give yourself! I applaud parents who are mindful to bring this gift to their children.
Mindful Meditation works soo wonderfully with kids because they are taught how to focus on their breath during the meditation! It is easy and fun! The benefits are amazing!
Bringing mindfulness into your life will allow you to see the beauty that is right in front of you and stop stressing over the past or worrying about the future. The moment right here and right now is what truly matters!
Research has shown that Mindful Meditation increases concentration, reduces stress, improves behavior, reduces anxiety, and enhances compassion.
Testimonies:
Karen worked with kindergarten student who had severe sensory issues and ADD issues. She could not sit still or control her behavior. When Karen worked with her class, the student actually sat down and meditated! The teacher was amazed! It was the first time this young girl sat still. Our bodies want to be in a state of calm, it is the outside influence that distracts our body's natural response to be in that calm state. Karen continued to work with this student. This young girl learned soo much about how to self regulate her sensory issues. At one point, her eyelids were blinking uncontrollably. She learned, through her breathe, to calm her body down. Her blinking stopped.
Karen worked with a defiant fifth grade student. She suffered from anger issues. When Karen began to work with her, she was resistant. However, pretty quickly, she warmed up. After a meditation, this beautiful young soul cried. She experienced a release of emotions.
Karen worked with an autistic student who had zero interest in meditation. However, as she watched Karen meditate, she joined in. She uses her meditation techniques daily with her mom! Her mom states what a beautiful change she is experiencing with her child.

Wanting to learn more about meditation and mindfulness, I signed up for the Monday night woman’s circle. I felt so comfortable from the moment I walked through the door. Karen is not only extremely knowledgeable, she is so kind and authentic that after the first time, I couldn’t wait to go back and learn more. Mindfulness and meditation has changed my life. I tried many time to do it on my own and with apps, but be.here.now. was the missing piece. Karen teaches by not only sharing information, but more importantly by sharing her everyday experiences of living mindfully. Her examples and stories enabled me to learn how to truly apply the content that I was learning, to my own life, and it was a piece that helped tremendously. This is not a place you will go to sit and just breathe for an hour. You will listen, laugh and learn…and walk out with a sense of relaxed peace-and a new way to experience life!! Give it a try, I’m sure it will change your life, as it did mine and so many others. ~ Fran C, google review
love everything about this place! The decor, the smell, the vibe and obviously the owner, Karen! She is a gorgeous woman who makes you feel welcomed and comfortable. I've been attending the Women's Circle since January where I experienced the most beautiful meditations ever. During the class we also share life experiences, we laugh and sometimes even cry... The meditations with Karen make me feel so calm and peaceful that I literally do not want to go home after the class is over!
I hope the studio grows and more people will be able to attend this beautiful experience!!! ~ Kamilia, google review
Be.Here.Now is a beautifully peaceful space. The moment you enter the center your senses are heightened but feel an instant sense of calm. The practice of mindfulness and meditation is presented perfectly. I came to my first class with a small group of friend and we all loved it! Mindful teachings were presented in a way we could take with us and apply to our daily lives. The classes, circles, and Reiki sessions leave you wanting to come back for more. Be.Here.Now is definitely a place to reset and find a sense of self and balance.~ Deena, google review
From the moment you step into the beautiful, Victorian house that be.here.now is located, you smell the calm and peace envelop your senses. This mindfulness/meditation studio located in Ridgewood, NJ has changed my focus on life and how I view the things around me. Karen, the owner, has a beautiful soul and an extremely inviting presence. Her women's circles on Monday evenings are unlike anything I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. She shares her life and experiences with us while teaching us meditation and life skills to make ourselves better. In studying mindfulness in the past 6+ months at be.here.now, my outlook on life has changed. I see things I never saw before and I appreciate things that just passed me by daily.
